TWO GOLDS FOR SERBIA
The last day of 35th European Junior Swimming Championship was reserved for Serbian swimmers. Ivan Ledjer broke the champioship record in 100m butterfly with 52,53. British James Doolan finished as second, while Spanish Alex Villaecija Garcia finished as third.Caba Siladji won a golden medal in 100m breaststroke and at the same time accomplished a new personal record 1:01,91. Silver went to German Marco Koch and bronze to Daniel Sliwinski.
Italian Luca Dotto aced in 50m freestyle (22,36). He was better than Russian Oleg Tikhobaev and Romanian Cacius Vlad Razvan. 200m freestyle and 400m medley were the British specialities of this day. Robert Bale celebrated in 200m freestyle and Roberto Pavoni in 400m medley. In addition, British team won in 4x100 medley and made a new European record.
Ekaterina Baklakova added another gold (in 100m breastroke) to her collection. Viktoriya Andreeva is a new European champion in 200m medley. Hungarian Beatrix Bordas by winning in 50m fly became a new owner of  championship record.
Race in 100m backstroke was golden for Alicja Tchorz from Poland (1:02,98). Moreover, Polish team was successful in 4x100m medley with time 4:10,96.
 
JOENSEN WINS AGAIN
Pol Joensen was the leading actor of the forth day of 35th European Junior Swimming Championship. After already winning 2 golden medals, race in 800m freestyle brought him another gold (7:56,90). Silver went to Raoul Shaw   (8:02,70) and bronze to Pavel Medvedskiy (8:04,56).
In 200m backstroke Briton Christopher Walker-Hebborn was dominant with time 1:59,61, whilst Hungarian Gábor Balog finished second with 2:01,01 and Eric Ress finished third with time 2:01,43. In 50m backstroke Russian boy Artem Dubovskoy was the best (26,25). Then came Italian Pizzamiglio Stefano Mauro (26,34) and again Russian Vitaly Melnikov (26,36).
Ladies put a wonderful fight in 50m freestyle. After a very tense race, Belgian girl  Jolien Sysmans won the first place with 25,94, French Elodie Schmitt was the second with 25,47, and Greek Vourna Kristel the third with 25,94. 200m freestyle was very successful for Spain. Patricia Ortega Castro brought a first golden medal for her country in this discipline. The Dutch van Rouwendaal was second (2:01,30) and third was French Radou Camille (2:01,74).
Race in 100m butterfly ended with Italian Di Pietro Silvia as the fastest (59,28), then came German Lena Kalla (1:00,28) and Hungarian Beatrix Bordas (1:00,77).
Girls from Great Britain broke the championship record in 4x200m relay (8:08,22). French team took silver and German team took bronze medal.
 
GREAT EXPECTATIONS IN 50m BREASTROKE
On the third day of 35th European Junior Swimming Championships, the most electrifying race was 50m breaststroke. The winner was Italian Ossola Nicolo with 28,26. Serbian Caba Siladji came as second (28,28), whilst Marco Koch ended up as third (28,32).  
Yet again, the British were unstoppable. They broke 2 records, in 200m medley and 4x200m relay.
In 200m medley, Xavier Mohammed (2:00,73) was followed by Schepers Jan David (2:03,22) from Germany and again Briton Pavoni Roberto (2:04,03).
In 4x200m relay the British swam 7:19,98, Italians 7:22,72 and Russians 7:23,78.
For race in 100m freestyle, the Russian national anthem was played thanks to Tikhobaev Oleg (50,03). With him at the victory stand were Polish Tarczynski Marcin ( 50,11) and Italian Marco Orsi (50,16).
The race in 200m butterfly ended with the triumph of Italian Bussolin Federico (1:59,29).    
Baklakova Ekaterina from Russia won the race in 200m breaststroke (2:28,42). Simonova Vitalina was second (2:29,63) and Zachoszcz Paulina was third (2:31,22).
Nika Karlina Petric won the first golden medal for Slovenia in 800m freestyle (8:36,92). Finals in 50m backstroke finished with Hungarian girl Dobar Eva as champion (29,42),  Polish girl Nazieblo Klaudia took the silver (29,62) and Ukrainian girl won the bronze medal (29,63).
For fourth day 6 finals are scheduled.
 
Joensen and Bochmann strike gold again!

Pal Joensen and Anne Bochmann are the heroes of the first two days in Belgrade.
After the yesterday’s triumph in 400m freestyle, the boy from Faroe Islands won yet another golden medal in 1500m freestyle. Silver went to Polish Pielowski Krzysztof and bronze to French Shaw Raoul.
Anne Bochmann continued her winning string and won in 400m freestyle also. Second finished van Rouwendaal Sharon from Netherland.
But that was not all for Britons.  Christopher Walker-Hebborn won gold in 100m backstroke. He swam faster than the second Artem Dubovskoy and third Vitaly Borisov from Russia.
German Marco Koch swam impressively in 200m breaststroke with the result 2:12,25. Koch will be one of the main rivals to Serbian swimmer Caba Siladji in 50m and 100m breaststroke.
Finals in 100m freestyle were extremely tense. Good finish brought a Belgian girl  Sysmans Jolien. In this race, Italian girl Di Pietro Silvia won silver and Russian Viktoria Andreeva bronze. 
In 200m backstroke, the fastest was Ukrainian girl  Kseniya Grygorenko next Italian Valentina Lucconi (2:14,16) and then Polish Klaudia Nazieblo.
Another day ended with record breaking by French female relay in 4x100m freestyle. The second was German team and last, but not the least, the Russian team.
Seven finals shall be held on the third day.

 
First day results
First day at the Tasmajdan pool in Belgrade, European Junior Swimming Championship has commenced. Around 2.000 people created a wonderful atmosphere. Finals in 6 events were held.
Ivan Lendjer won the golden medal in 50m butterfly and gave the Belgrade audience a big reason to celebrate. His time was 24,17 sec. The second was British Dolan (24,58), whilst the third place went to Turk Bicer Goksu (24,63). In semi-finals Lendjer broke the European championships record with 24,12. Ivan is one of the most talented Serbian swimmers, and he has met the ’’A’’ Olympic standard in 100m butterfly and upon the conclusion of the competition in Belgrade, he will go to Olympic Games in Beijing.
The most exciting race of the day was perhaps the finals in 400m freestyle. After the 350m Pal Joensen from Faroe Islands was leading (3: 51, 44) and even though Italian Alessio di Giorgio (3:54, 21) did his best and despite his marvellous finish, in the end he was slower than the boy from Faroe Islands. The bronze medal went to Xavier Mohammed from Great Britain (3:19, 26).
The relay in 4x100m freestyle was exiting as well. The main contest was between teams from Germany, Italy and Russia. In the end the great finish of Dimitri Colupaev brought gold to Germans and moreover the European championships record 3:19,26. Italians came second and Russians third.
In the female competition, Russia won 2 golden medals. Ekaterina Baklakova came to Belgrade with the best result 32,34. She proved her supremacy in 50m breaststroke. After her finished Zachoszcz Paulina from Poland (32,83) and Vitalina Simonova from Russia (32,85).
The surprise of the day was a golden medal for Antonina Faustova (17:06,87), in 1500m considering that she swam in a slower group in the morning session. The Dutch Marijeke Nihuis (17:07,11) was second and third was A Russan girl Alena Izosimova (17:16,87).
Bochmann Anne from Great Britain proved her dominancy in 400m medley (4:46, 58). She took the leading position just after 100m. Silver went to Russian girl Aleksandra Musienko (4:48,30), whereas the Slovenian girl Nika Karlina Petric (4:49,04) finished third.
After the first day of the competition, Russia is leading with 6 medals (2 golden, 1 silver and 3 bronze). Second day will have 7 finals.
